Fakenham Market is on all year round, both the privately run Auction Site Market and the Town Market are on every Thursday.

Both are great markets to visit with very different atmospheres. The town market is typically traditional and adds life to this popular market town, all the usual stalls you would expect to find and more.

The Beck's Auction Site Market is more of a mixture of old and new with a bric-a-brac collector's market running alongside stalls selling modern goods. The Auction brings an eclectic crowd all hoping to make money or find a rare gem. The collectors and dealers throng there alongside curious holidaymakers and interested locals.

Both markets give a rich slice of Norfolk life at its best. Enjoy hearing the Norfolk dialect, see the local characters and taste the local produce while enjoying a different kind of shopping experience out in the open air.

Fakenham Market accident

Following the accident on Thursday when a market trader's stall got pulled over on top of her by a pick up truck, I am sure I speak of all traders at both markets when I extend all our sympathies to the trader and the lad who also got injured.

It's usually the weather conditions that cause traders the most problems so to have such a horrible accident happen makes life even harder. We hope that the trader in question will soon be up and running again, and that the cuts and bruises heal quickly.
